Brig. Gen. Charles D. Hausman
Brigadier General Hausman is a native of Saint Joseph, Missouri. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Technology from the University of Central Missouri in 1991 and a Master of Science degree in Aviation Safety from the University of Central Missouri in 1993. He completed a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies through the United States Naval War College in 2015.
General Hausman enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1988, attending Basic Training while assigned to the 376th Supply Company. Following basic training he entered the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at the University of Central Missouri and joined the Missouri National Guard as a member of A Company, 110th Engineer Battalion in 1989 serving as a Platoon Leader. He branch transferred to Aviation in 1993, and has served as a Commander of the following: Aviation Reconnaissance and Interdiction Detachment; Headquarters and Headquarter Company, 1-135th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion; Company C, 1-114th Aviation (Assault); the 1-135th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion; and Commander of the 35th Combat Aviation Brigade. General Hausman has also held several other military assignments including Executive Officer of the 35th Combat Aviation Brigade; Deputy Director of Manpower and Personnel of Joint Force Headquarters; Deputy Commander of 70th Troop Command; Director of Aviation and Safety of Joint Force Headquarters.
General Hausman deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom with the 1107th Theater Aviation Sustainment and Maintenance Group from October 2005 to November 2006. He later deployed as the Executive Officer with the 35th Combat Aviation Brigade from June 2012 to May 2013. His most recent deployment was as the Commander of the 35th Combat Aviation Brigade in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield from August 2018 to May 2019. General Hausman currently serves the Missouri National Guard full time as the Director of the Joint Staff.
General Hausman has received several military awards including the Meritorious Service Medal with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Medal with Numeral Two, the Army Commendation Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Medal with One Bronze Service Star, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Missouri Conspicuous Service Medal, and the Master Army Aviator Badge. He is qualified in the TH-67, UH-1 Huey, AH-1 Cobra, AH64D Apache, and is qualified as an instructor pilot in the OH-58A/C and AH-64A Apache.
Brigadier General Hausman resides with his wife, Julie Hausman, and two children Alex and Libby Hausman in Jefferson City, Missouri.
